With five popper fastenings to the front and poppers each side at the back for freedom of movement. Two large & deep front pockets and inside zip pocket.

Please note: There is some wear to the corduroy collar otherwise the jacket is in fair condition throughout.

Please be aware this is a children’s size XL. Our model is size 8-10.

Some Barbour Facts…

Barbour have been making wax jackets for 125 years.

Once a seafaring staple, now a classic fashion item, worn both in rural and urban settings.

In Scotland, 15th century fishermen were waterproofing their sail cloth, using fish oils, grease or tar.  They then went on to fashion hats and capes for themselves workwear.

As they used linen, it was smelly and also heavy.  Later, as cotton was introduced, it was more practical.  Linseed was later used as a treatment for the cotton fabric, hence the word ‘oilskins’

In 1930’s they used paraffin wax.
